Customs Declarations
The customs procedure applies to parcels sent to the UK, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the USA, Russia, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates.

Power of attorney for representation in customs proceedings
EORI number
Data for completing the customs declaration
EORI
EORI is an identification number used for communication with the customs administration. It is assigned once and usually copies the VAT number. If you plan to send goods outside the EU, you should have an EORI number assigned for an indefinite period.
How to receive an EORI?
You can apply for an EORI number at your nearest customs office by submitting a completed application form. This can be downloaded from the website of the Customs Administration of Slovakia. The service is free of charge.
What is the procedure?
Contact our customs department at customs@packeta.com.
Send us a completed a power of attorney for indirect representation in customs proceedings and the assigned EORI number.
After checking the details, we will enable the submission of parcels outside the EU in the client interface.
And then there's nothing that can stop you from submitting your parcel!
Data for filling in the customs declaration
When submitting a parcel to a country outside the EU, you must first fill in
1. Method of Customs Clearance
Self-declaration (you have your own export document or EAD – Export Accompanying Document)
In case of this option, you need to fill in the MRN number related to the parcel and attach the EAD customs declaration and invoice as separate pdf files in the email you will send us.
Important: For parcels sent to Russia, the EAD must also be attached directly to the parcel.
Issuing a customs declaration via Packeta
You don't have your own EAD? We will be happy to issue an export customs document for you. The fee for this service is 5 EUR per issued EAD including the first item of the customs declaration. You will then pay 1,20 EUR for each additional customs code. We will then upload the issued EAD and the EU exit report, which you can use for tax purposes, to your client section for download.
Postal clearance (no EAD and no charges)
If you choose this customs clearance option, we do not provide you with any proof of exit from the EU.
The clearance options listed above are active depending on the carrier you choose and the services it provides. Exceptions apply to the following countries:
UK: we only use the postal solution. Therefore, we cannot issue or conclude an EAD.
Ukraine: the default setting is negotiated by the postal regime. If you wish to send parcels with your own EAD or with a customs document from Packeta, please contact us at customs@packeta.com.
USA: Only a postal solution is possible, but with the option of providing an export receipt.
Russia: For parcels sent to Russia, the EAD must also be attached directly to the parcel.
2. Customs Code
The customs code is an 8-digit marking of traded goods or the so-called combined nomenclature based on the HS code and supplemented by a two-digit marking.
3. Name of Goods
The name of goods is a detailed description of the goods being sent, which includes the following information:
what type of goods
what are the goods used for
what material are they made of
The description is mandatory in English and optional in Slovak. We then use Slovak language in the customs declaration.
Example of description: Glass demijohn for wine with a volume of 2 l / Sklenený demižón na víno s objemom 2 l
Fuel Surcharge
For road transport for the month of January 2026 is 8% of the basic price of transport without VAT.
The fuel surcharge is based on the price of diesel fuel quoted by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic for the 49th to 51th week of 2025, which is 1,431 EUR/l.

The fuel surcharge will be added to the prices for shipments delivered to Packet drop-off points (Z-POINTs / Z-BOXes), to PICK-UP-POINTS (boxes) of the carrier HU FoxPost Box and for parcels delivered to an address via the carrier SK Packeta Home HD. For parcels delivered to the address via other carriers and delivered to other PICK-UP-POINTS (delivery points of contractors), the fuel supplement is included in the transportation price.
The fuel surcharge is always calculated from the remuneration for the shipping without VAT according to the valid price list of the company Packeta s.r.o.
The percentage of fuel surcharge is basen on the average diesel price reported by Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic for the first three full weeks in the previous calendar month and is valid for the entire following calendar month (it is also taken into account the week, in which the months are changed).
The fuel surcharge for shipping is always shown separately on the invoice.
With effect from 1 February 2026, the method for determining the percentage fuel surcharge for a given month will change. From this date, the surcharge will be determined based on the average diesel price, including duties and taxes (in EUR/1,000 liters), as reported in the Oil Bulletin issued by the European Commission for Energy and Transport for the EA-20 country group, calculated for the entire calendar month. The applicable fuel surcharge percentage will be published in the last week of the current month and will apply for the entire following calendar month.
The reason for switching from a national to an international fuel index is the increasing share of international shipments transported for our clients.
From 1 February 2026, the fuel surcharge will be:
calculated from the remuneration for transport services excluding VAT, in accordance with the valid Packeta Price List
shown separately on the invoice
added to the fee for shipments delivered to: Packeta pick-up points (Z-POINT / Z-BOX), HU FoxPost Box, and to an address via any Packeta and Zásilkovna carrier
included in the fee for shipments delivered to an address and to a PICK-UP POINT of another subcontractor

The toll surcharge will be addded to the prices for parcels delivered to Packet delivery points (Z-POINTs / Z-BOXes), to PICK-UP-POINTS (boxes) of the carrier HU FoxPost Box and for shipments delivered to an address via the carrier SK Packeta Home HD. In the case of parcels delivered to an address via other carriers and delivered to other PICK-UP-POINTS (discharge points of contractors), it is also advantageous in the cost of transportation.
With effect from 1 February 2026, the method for determining the amount of the toll surcharge for shipments delivered to Packeta pick-up points (Z-POINT / Z-BOX) and to HU FoxPost Box will change. At the same time, we are introducing a toll surcharge for shipments delivered to an address via all carriers within the Packeta network. From this date, the surcharge will be set uniformly for each kilogram of the shipment’s weight, including any commenced kilogram.
From 1 February 2026, the toll surcharge will be:
calculated at EUR 0.04 for each kilogram of the shipment’s weight, including any commenced kilogram, excluding VAT, in accordance with the valid Packeta Price List
added to the fee for shipments delivered to: Packeta pick-up points (Z-POINT / Z-BOX), HU FoxPost Box, and to an address via any Packeta and Zásilkovna carrier
included in the fee for shipments delivered to an address and to a PICK-UP POINT of another subcontractor
